In our office we are committed to prevent dental decay and gum disease before they start. That is why we provide our patients with an optimal preventive dentistry program that includes:

Professional dental cleaning
Professional dental cleaning is performed by a certified dental hygienist and customized to your individual needs in terms of frequency recalls.

Deep cleaning

In some cases, when we find the presence of extended inflammation of the gums or gingival pockets, a deep cleaning is necessary. This procedure is usually completed in two or four appointments and is essential to promote proper gum healing.

Oral cancer screening
Soft tissues and tongue are evaluated for lesions and pathology.

Periodical x-rays
They are necessary to detect cavities and evaluate the supporting tissues of your teeth. In our office we use Digital X-rays to reduce the exposure to radiations and to see the images immediately after taken.

Fluoride applications
Applications of fluoride are important to preserve your teeth enamel. Fluoride is an important element which is involved in the mineralization process of your teeth.

Bad breath control
The use of oral hygiene aids such as tongue scrapers, mouth rinses, and other kinds of bacterial control methods, help keep your breath fresh and free of odors.

Sealants
Especially designed to seal the chewing surface of teeth, these clear resins are easy to apply. They are an excellent protection against cavities especially in kids and last for years.

Our patients appreciate our commitment to their oral health and enjoy healthy smiles throughout their lives.

What is Good Oral Hygiene?
Good oral hygiene results in a mouth that looks and smells healthy. This means:

  • Your teeth are clean and free of debris
  • Gums are pink and do not hurt or bleed when you brush or floss
  • Bad breath is not a constant problem

Dr Mulas and his hygienist will help you learn good oral hygiene techniques and will point out areas in your mouth that may require extra attention during brushing and flossing.

How is Good Oral Hygiene Practiced?
There are simple steps that each of us can take to decrease the risk of developing tooth decay, gum disease and other dental problems.

These include:

  • Brushing thoroughly twice a day and flossing daily.
  • Eating a balanced diet and limiting snacks and sodas between meals.
  • Using dental products that contain fluoride, including toothpaste.
  • Rinsing with a fluoride mouth rinse if recommended by Dr. Mulas

Making sure that your children less than 12 drink fluoridated water or take a fluoride supplement if they live in a non-fluoridated area.

Good oral health is important to your overall well-being. Maintaining good oral hygiene is one of the most important things you can do for your teeth and gums.
